What’s in a name? A lot, as it turns out, when it comes to Celebration Square in Mississauga!
This recreational community hub is abuzz with activity and opportunity year-round – from concerts to food festivals to cultural celebrations. Plus there are fun amenities to take advantage of! In the winter months, it’s home to the city’s largest outdoor skating rink, while in summer you can take advantage of the Jubilee Garden or large wading pool; the sprinklers and sprayers are a welcome family-friendly treat when trying to beat the city heat!
There is always something going on at this unique outdoor space, which combines an urban park with an outdoor event venue, and you can keep up to date here –> What’s happening at Celebration Square?
In 2007, Celebration Square was constructed as an amalgamation of two squares into a large, comprehensive outdoor venue. Its design has been award-winning, both for urban design and for accessibility. The square draws 750,000 visitors a year – crazy, eh? Folks come from all over the GTA and beyond to attend the numerous concerts, events, and festivals that take place.
In the Queen’s Jubilee Garden, there are lovely swaths of green space with turf and shaded gardens bursting with plants and flowers, as well as walking paths and benches that provide a rich garden experience in the midst of the city.
You can continue your stroll just beyond the pathways of the Jubilee Garden down Legends Row; it’s considered Mississauga’s ‘walk of fame’ with displays honouring some of the area’s most prominent figures.
There’s also an ongoing art exhibit, and some supremely tasty food trucks to grab lunch and picnic under a leafy tree in the Jubilee Garden, or while the fam splashes out in the wading pool.
Celebration Square is also within walking distance from several other notable Mississauga locations, including Square One Shopping Centre, Living Arts Centre, and the Art Gallery of Mississauga, so with easy access from public transit and ample parking, it’s a good home base- as well as a destination in itself.
We love strolling the Farmer’s Market and Antique Market with a covered marketplace. And there are always ongoing family-friendly activities, such as movie night and storytime. There are concerts, cultural events, rollerskating at Halloween, and a New Year’s Eve party where you can ring in the new year with 30,000 of your closest friends.
With so much to experience, this is a spot that you’ll want to visit often through the seasons. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, an evening out with the family, or simply to relax and unwind!

Since 1989, I’ve steered my career through a real estate market crash and burn; survived a slow painful cross-country recession; completed an M.E.S. graduate degree from York University called ‘Planning Housing Environments’; executed the concept, sales & marketing of multiple new condo and vintage loft conversions; and guided hundreds of clients through the purchase and sale of hundreds of freehold and condominium dwellings across the original City of Toronto. From a gritty port industrial city into a glittering post-industrial global centre, I’ve navigated the ebbs and flows of a property market as a consistent Top Producer. And I remain as passionate about it today as when I started.
