This month’s instalment of Dear Urbaneer was entitled, ‘Dear Urbaneer: Help Me Create Easy-Breezy Indoor Holiday Sparkle‘. In November, Steve’s getting seasonal, helping a reader who is looking for some easy ideas to elevate his home during the holiday season – and all winter long.  Here’s the letter: Although I’m Canadian, I’m not a huge fan of winter. The shorter days, colder temperatures, and precarious weather conditions make it feel bleak to me. However, I do enjoy December because the Holiday Season is social and celebratory, and the festive spirit helps break the winter doldrums. Having recently moved, I decided this year I’d invest more effort into bringing some Holiday decor to my home. When I came across your Easy-Breezy Outdoor Holiday Sparkle! design blog, I felt like I found a kindred spirit because your ideas are simple, stylish and clever. Which begs the question, might you have some indoor decor ideas for the Holiday that are similarly easy and effortless? I would be eternally grateful!” Read on for Steve’s go-to Holiday decorating ideas!

Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most well-read posts this past month:

The most-read post for November was, ‘Knob & Tube Wiring Still Common In Canada‘.  Like so many property owners undertaking upgrades and renovations, Steve is no stranger to the unpleasant surprise of finding old knob and tube wiring throughout parts of their new (or old) home – despite a home inspector having reported that the dwelling was ‘upgraded’. Sadly, this isn’t the least bit unusual for owners of vintage homes across Canada. This is because all property inspections are strictly visual and limited only to those building components one can see, and, in the case of wiring, one basically requires x-ray vision to see what’s behind the old plaster and lath! So, if knob & tube has you in a twist… we got you! Read on!

Another popular piece was ‘Realtor Steve Fudge Joins The Panelists on TheZoomer To Discuss Housing & Home. From his place in the ‘real estate trenches’, Steve’s job is to observe what is immediately unfolding, analyze why, and forecast the actions, reactions, and trends that will be forthcoming. This is one of the many ways he serves Urbaneer clients. As such, he’s participated in a number of interviews with well-known media outlets over the years, the latest foray being an appearance as a panellist on TheZoomer. They invited Steve to join a round-table discussion of on housing affordability and the future of housing Toronto. Read on for clips or the full episode!

We also had a great response to our blog ‘Despite Fluvid & Rising Interest Rates, The Shelter Prize Is Safety & Convenience When You Live In Swansea, Toronto. In this one, Steve shares his thoughts on living in the time of Fluvid, our current market conditions amidst rising interest rates and high inflation, and the convenience of living in a fantastic central city location. Take a peek!
