When You’re At WAG, You’re Family!

Move over PetSmart – we’ve got a new favourite!

As we all know, bigger doesn’t always equal better. This especially rings true at Wag, a small family-run business on the Danforth at Woodbine that carries a wide variety of all natural foods for dogs, cats, small animals and birds. They also have a solid variety of supplements, toys, and accessories. As a boutique outfit, owners Ruth Heathcote and Rob Riley have earned the reputation of running that extra mile to find – or special order – the product that’s right for your pet companion.

Only the best for our pets! (Look at that face!!)

Do you have a pet that has a complicated diet? Or one that’s as sick as…well… a dog? Wag is where you’ll want to head after the vet; the online reviews rave that Ruth and Rob are the most knowledgeable in the city! From the moment they greet you, it’s immediately apparent that they are extremely passionate about what they do, and take great pride in keeping your pets happy and healthy.

And when we say they go out of their way, we mean it: they’ll deliver your pet’s needs to your door!

Heck, they even have a pet wash station at the back of the store that you can use for free (a lifesaver if you’ve been chasing your pup through the mud in East Lynn Park across the street)!

But what makes Wag on the Danforth stand out in our eyes? Ruth and Rob hold regular ADOPT-A-THON’s where they partner with organizations like Toronto Cat Rescue! Anyone who spends their time and money to help animals find a loving home is the cat’s meow in our books.

Wag will be bringing back their Adopt-A-Thon now that the pandemic is (mostly) behind us.

And raising funds for Pet Food Banks? THAT’S how you show love for your community!

It’s obvious to us that Wag On The Danforth is one of the most well-loved and trusted family establishments in the close-knit community of Danforth Village. Here’s what some customers and friends of the store are saying:

“The owners go out of their way. They don’t even really specialize in birds but they offered to order me in my bird’s food that otherwise is an extreme hassle for me to purchase in the city.” – Kaleena L., Toronto

“Fabulous selection of food, litter, and accessories, plus fabulous customer service (they deliver your pet needs right to your door!).” Michelle L.

“Probably the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff in town, very fair prices and a local neighbourhood gem.” – Winnie S, Toronto

“THE best place to get pet supplies! Ruth and Rob are knowledgeable, personable, and very helpful. I love going there for my cat food. They only sell good quality products that they believe in.” – Lisa D., Toronto
