Here’s what you’ll find in the March 2017 edition of our e-newsletter! A sign of the changing seasons, March is traditionally said to “come in” and “go out” with the gentleness of a lamb or the fierceness of lion. But given the tempermental, erratic weather we’ve had, with highs and lows spanning 30 degrees, the simile doesn’t seem to apply. In fact, the weather has been as unpredictable as Toronto’s housing market can be! The good news is, we seem to be on the brink of Spring, which means flowers blooming, and real estate booming! We can’t wait!
First, we share our Homewatch News contribution, ‘How To Plan A Successful Home Renovation’. In a market where listings are scarce and affordability is eroding, many Buyers are finding they have no choice but to buy a home that requires renovations. While this is increasingly par for the course, and many Buyers find no shortage of inspiration in envisioning the end result, they’re less informed on the pragmatic processes necessary to achieve completion. Here we offer are some steps to include in your planning, after you’ve located the property that fits your budget and location desires. Our HomeWatch newsletters are variably turned into direct mail pieces, delivered to around 40,000 Toronto households. It’s part of our on-going marketing efforts that range from traditional print campaigns – like advertising our Innovative Space ad in the Friday Globe and Mail newspaper (for over twenty years) – to our informative blog and our growing social media presence on Facebook, Google+, Instagram and Twitter.
Each month we share the tale of what one of our buyers have recently purchased in our Home of The Month feature. In March, we share the story of clients who had been living in a Yorkville condo and work in the Financial District. Having located to Toronto only a few years earlier, and not overly familiar with many of the city’s ‘hoods, part of their learning curve was finding which downtown community – in proximity to preferred urban amenities and green space – would best suit their lifestyle and their next family home. Securing a stellar property in Roncesvalles Village was the satidfying ending to their homebuying experience, but the full journey is worth the read!
March’s installment of our Dear Urbaneer series is entitled, ‘Dear Urbaneer: Help! Do You Have A Moving Checklist?’. Don’t let moving madness leave you muddled! This month we offer a checklist – from common sense preparations to things often overlooked – that will help reduce stress and promote a efficient, successful move! Here was the original letter: “After a lengthy exhausting property search, I’m delighted to finally find a home that will suit me perfectly. However, now that I’m getting down to the business of preparing to move, I’m feeling more than a little overwhelmed by all the details. Do you have any additional tips or tools that could help assuage my stress?” Check out the full post, especially if you’re currently on the house hunt!
As realtors, writers, and avid social media participants – not to mention lovers of all things real estate – our urbaneer team shares multiple blogs each week. According to Urbaneer.com’s March statistics, one of our most well received blogs was ‘What The Pundits Are Saying About Toronto Real Estate‘, in which we collect and organize what experts are predicting for Toronto real estate in 2017, with a commentary of our own, straight from the real estate trenches! We’re also thrilled that our topical blog ‘Dear Toronto Real Estate: Where Are The Property Listings?‘ was a front runner, addressing and exploring the property inventory shortage that our city is currently experiencing. The lack of listings is primarily due to the supply/demand dynamic being way out of whack, which has caused what we’re calling ‘Buyer gridlock’.
