April’s Dear Urbaneer was entitled, ‘Dear Urbaneer: How Can I Let Fresh Air In This Spring, Without Letting Noise And Dirt In Too?‘  This time, Steve assists a reader who is ready to embrace the energy of spring, including opening the windows, but wants to keep the vibe fresh and lively.  The question reads: “Now that spring is finally in full swing, I’m eager to open my windows and throw up the blinds, to let the natural light beam in and feel a fresh-air breeze after being closed in all winter.  But in years past, as much as I relish opening those windows, I always notice everything else that comes with it, too, like street noise, dust, pollen, and even how much light (and artificial light at night) is coming into my space. What can I do?”  Read on for his insight!

Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most well-read posts this past month:

Our most well-read piece was: Incredible Toronyx Developments 2-For-1 Condo Event In Toronto’. In what industry insiders are calling “the boldest buyer incentive since free parking”, little-known developer Toronyx Developments announced Wednesday a limited-time “2-for-1 Condo Event,” promising Buyers two condo units for the price of one—provided they close before “whichever layer of government changes policy again.” The company says the offer is intended to restore confidence in a cooling market before they become insolvent…. April Fools! It tickles us to write this spoof post every year!

Another popular piece was ‘The Byproducts Of An Unhinged Toronto Real Estate Market Include Power Of Sales‘. For anyone who owns property, these market conditions are not only disconcerting, they’re shattering dreams. For 3 generations,  if you played it safe, buying real estate was a guaranteed path to financial freedom. The possibility that one could find themselves drowning in carrying costs because interest rates rose, paying for a mortgage that exceeded the current value of one’s property, would have seemed preposterous! But it’s true for many homeowners right now. The fallout of a correcting real estate market usually starts with the most highly leveraged. For these people, and everyone else suffering under our current conditions, they took the risk, gambled, and things didn’t go as planned. Read on!

We also had a great response to our blog, ‘Good Mornings Begin At Cozy & Curated Reunion Coffee In Roncesvalles Village. There’s something about wandering through Roncesvalles Village that makes you feel like you’ve accidentally stepped into a cooler, more self-aware version of Toronto. It’s got that eclectic mix of old-school bakeries, indie shops, and people who somehow always look effortlessly put together—even at 8 a.m. Nestled into this charming strip is Reunion Coffee Roasters, a place that immediately gives off “yes, this is the right decision” energy the moment you walk in. This is just one of our many Roncesvalles Village amenity blogs this week; check them all out!
