Paradise Grapevine: A Winsome Wine Bar On Bloor West At Shaw

Dufferin Grove / Bloorcourt Village, Real Estate, Restaurants

As the warmth and sunshine of summer coax us outdoors, it means one thing in particular for Torontonians: PATIO SEASON! These two little words bring so much happiness to people’s hearts, and for good reason! Especially now that patios are finally open to the public after being closed during a never-ending series of COVID-19 lockdowns.

And with that said – Torontonians are on the lookout for the best patios in the city! Well, we’ve your first recommendation right here. In case you didn’t know about this little hidden oasis, let us introduce you to Paradise Grapevine; it’s a refined drinking spot located on Bloor St. West a couple of doors west of Shaw Street.

What makes Paradise Grapevine so special worthy of your time? After all, there are watering holes aplenty in the city. Here we go:

Anyone who’s found themselves reclined on Paradise’s magical private patio would agree – this is a seriously sexy spot to lounge. Described by customers online as “green”, “homey”, and “private”, the covered outdoor space overflows with lush foliage and vines, and is accented by tiny twinkle lights; it’s a rustic retreat where one can riff and reminisce into the wee hours!

The wine tasting, beer sipping, and cider sampling list are something to celebrate!

The names are pleasant, the look of the bottles (or the cans for all three wine, beer, and cider) are fun to look at, and the staff is knowledgeable – just in case you’re having trouble deciding!

And the best part is that they even make their own wine! Their grapes come from Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the wine is locally produced. They even have a wine shop at the front of the house where they sell wines that are organic, unfiltered, and mostly delicious. You can also purchase online at https://www.paradisegrapevine.com.

Some of their top picks on their Instagram page @paradisegrapevine (where we sourced all of these gorgeous snaps) include Herve Villemade’s 2019 BOVIN – a white refreshing wine that will knock your socks (or sandals) off. Next, is Louis-Antoine Luyt’s 2017 Gorda Blanca – a wine that experts have said is like a “sweet roll in the hay”, or better yet, “a stable hand with a sheepish grin”!

Now that’s what I call an experience!!

In addition, we highly recommend that you try Paradise Grapevine’s line of “Can de Soif™ – 2020 Pep Talk Rosé⁣”, which are delightful wines in a can, perfect for picnics this Summer. On their Instagram account, these Cans de Soif are described as a “fruit-bomb party in your mouth with delightful cherry/raspberry fruit, mouth-watering acidity, and a should-be-standard-at-this-point-in-covid 8 oz serving size”.

And to accompany all these delicious drinks, we are happy to share that they also serve yummy, yet simple and affordable snacks that consist of charcuterie-inspired cheese plates, meat plates, mixed olives, etc.

Managers and employees are gracious, playful, and genuinely wish to cultivate an excellent food and beverage experience for each one of their guests.

So next time you’re looking to confab with friends or fam – take a load off a Paradise Grapevine, and enjoy a vacation from reality that feels like an upscale BBQ in your own backyard!

Cheers!!
