Bites Of Bliss At Le Petit Déjeuner In St. Lawrence Market

City Living, Restaurants, St. Lawrence Market

As the temperature highs and lows continue to fluctuate – signalling Spring may be just around the corner! – Torontonians are exiting their domestic cocoons to embrace city life in full swing! Even the Urbaneer Team is ready for everything spring will bring – ditching the jackets, digging into gardening, strolling through parks, and supporting as many awesome local purveyors as possible. How awesome is it when you live in a neighbourhood with a rich, colourful array of urban amenities?!

One of my favourite Toronto adventures is to set out on a Saturday or Sunday on my bike – with only a vague idea of what I might do – and see what piques my curiosity! I love spending a weekend strolling through St. Lawrence Market for some ingredient shopping… which inevitably becomes hours of culinary exploration! Afterward, I like to refuel and relax with brunch at Le Petit Dejeuner!

Located at 191 King Street East – between Jarvis and Sherbourne Streets – this is comfort food times a million! The all-day breakfast is perfection when you’re craving an omelet and bacon, but my favourites are the eggs benny and their signature melt-in-your-mouth Belgian waffles are truly a must-try. (Voted best waffles in the City by BlogTO!)

“Since October 2002, we have cracked a quarter million eggs, offered thousands of smiles and served hundreds of coffees. You’ve come, eaten (also smiled), and moved on. We’re a small part of your day but hopefully a memorable one.” – Le Petit Dejeuner

Owner/chef Johan Maes has run this family business for over two decades, ensuring many of the ingredients come from the local markets and farms. Moreover, he loves using traditional equipment and house preparation methods to create their signature dishes? This is feel-good family fare!

Le Petit Dejeuner is known for its legendary breakfast and lunch seatings which are active and engaging (5 days a week), but they’re also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday where the pace is more relaxed and the environment more intimate; expect a seasonal menu that showcases family recipe specialties!

How awesome would the weekend be if you could crawl out of bed, throw on your chinos, a cotton T and your Espadrilles and stroll – for just 5 minutes – to a hot cup of coffee at Le Petit Dejeuner?!

Here’s a fresh-to-market 1bed/1bath brick and beam loft offering that we call: A Heritage Hard Loft In The Heart Of Historic St. Lawrence Market ….NOW SOLD!!

This loft has a fantastic, efficient layout; we always prefer having private zones tucked away from an open-plan entertainment space. But more than that, this intelligently designed suite – with its careful preservation of original details – is a great example of scale and proportion, allowing you flexibility and fun in tailoring it to your liking. Blonde laminate wood floors ground and unify this one-bedroom suite, and you can’t help but be drawn in by the south-facing windows that glow with natural light.

If you’re a ‘make-it-happen’ millennial looking for a swag pad in one of Toronto’s most historic neighbourhoods, a busy professional couple who doesn’t have time for the maintenance of a house with a yard, or a downsizing Zoomer seeking turn-key swish in proximity to your downtown-dwelling kids (and grandkids), these dare-to-dream downtown digs like these are worth your consideration!

Seeking space to spread out and truly enjoy downtown living? This crisp and contemporary suite could be just what you’re looking for! Penthouse 3 is situated at the south-west corner of 39 Sherbourne Street, occupying two-storeys on the 16th and 17th floors. Originally designed as a 2bed + den, 2bath suite, it was reconfigured with the builder – King Plus Development Group Corp – to become a spacious 1-bed, 1.5-bath urban oasis!

Want to have someone on your side?

Since 1989, I’ve steered my career through a real estate market crash and burn; survived a slow painful cross-country recession; completed an M.E.S. graduate degree from York University called ‘Planning Housing Environments’; executed the concept, sales & marketing of multiple new condo and vintage loft conversions; and guided hundreds of clients through the purchase and sale of hundreds of freehold and condominium dwellings across the original City of Toronto. From a gritty port industrial city into a glittering post-industrial global centre, I’ve navigated the ebbs and flows of a property market as a consistent Top Producer. And I remain as passionate about it today as when I started.
