Well-Done On Wallace In Wallace Emerson
offered at $899,000If you’ve been house-hunting in the original City of Toronto as of late, you’ve likely discovered that the closer you get to the downtown core the higher the prices… so much so that over the past few weeks we’re witnessing buyers ponying up $900,000 for semi-detached crapboxes which need to be completely gutted before one can even call the moving company.
Prices are sky-rocketing so quickly Buyers are either finding themselves shut out of the freehold market entirely – thereby redirecting them into the more plentiful condominium market – or it’s forcing them to reconsider their locations of choice.
Which is where this modern ‘new’ back-to-the-bricks renovated dwell with top-up third floor addition in the Wallace Emerson neighbourhood just south of The Junction is truly worth considering. Offered at $899,000, this stylized and rather sophisticated residence with around 1920 square feet of above-grade living space (and around 500 square feet in the basement) is a sensible alternative for busy urban professionals who would rather focus on their career-path than co-ordinate an army of trades to make most any vintage house less burdensome.
There’s some pretty sweet finishes and fittings here (stainless steel appliances, stone counters, gas cooking, smart lighting), and a thoughtful layout featuring three bedrooms and three and half baths. In particular, we’re fans of the ground level walk-out to the garden with barbecue hook-up and the top floor master suite with the private city vista terrace.
If you don’t know the Wallace Emerson neighbourhood well, it’s chock full of hip cafes and an emerging art scene. It’s close to the public transit bike path, and the new Bloor Hub train station which will be serving the airport and Union Station. We’re already fans of The Emerson and The Whippoorwill Restaurant & Tavern, which has captured our fancy and presence as more and more of our clients settle down in this vibrant up and coming location. Here’s our Wallace Emerson Neighbourhood Page to give you a flavour (and the city census date for the area) on the evolution of the area.
