Even on the dreariest city day, Willem and Jools seems to exude sunlight. Tucked on the southern stretch of Roncesvalles Village at Galley Avenue, this charming flower and plant shop is filled with captivating flora which always piques my curiosity.
Since opening in June 2015, Willem and Jools has thrived off of owner Joanne’s keen eye for unique pieces. For example, she carries 8 out of 10 of NASA's top air-purifying plants, including spider plants, Boston Ferns, and English Ivy.
Being just as varied as the flowers and plants she carries, Joanne's business runs the gamut from weddings (well over a hundred, now), to events, to personal arrangements. And delivery!

We love that Joanne aims to change people’s perspectives on the roles flowers and plants can play. Like, at funerals, she all but refuses the classics, like white lilies. “I try to use flowers as a way of enhancing and turning around stereotypes. “People don’t need to see somber flowers at funerals, they need to see bright, beautiful, garden-fresh things,” she says. Joanne also stocks unique gift ware as well, like preserves, accessories, cosmetic bags, etc.
Whenever I need an interesting arrangement – something unique and stunning – I depend on Willem and Jools.
Below is the arrangement I had them do up on short notice, as I was en route to Joanne's store – beautiful, eh?! And at a very reasonable price!
