Here's what you'll find in the October 2016 edition of our e-newsletter, as Toronto's real estate market races through autumn!
First, we share our Homewatch News contribution, 'Household Mold: What Homeowners need to Know'. There is much more to homeownership then signing papers and moving in; there’s some hands-on, elbow grease kind of work that is required to preserve the physical structure that is your investment – your home. We spend a lot of time, when securing a home, focusing on the things that you can see, but what about the things that you can’t see? Like household mold! Our HomeWatch newsletters are usually turned into direct mail pieces, delivered to around 40,000 Toronto households. It's part of our on-going marketing efforts that range from traditional print campaigns – like advertising our Innovative Space ad in the Friday Globe and Mail newspaper (for over twenty years) – to our informative blog and our growing social media presence on Facebook, Google+, Instagram and Twitter.
Each month we share the tale of what one of our buyers have recently purchased in our Home of The Month feature. In October, we share the journey of an engaged couple climbing the property ladder from his downtown condominium (they're keeping hers as an investment property) into a freehold residence perfect for the next chapter of their lives together. Our Buyers, young professional urbanites in the creative and technology economies, set out to navigate the choppy waters of the Spring market to secure a three-bedroom home. Their journey was rife with challenges – as it unfortunately is for most Toronto real estate buyers these days – as our intrepid couple were open to considering a variety of neighbourhoods and property possibilities. Fortunately, the Urbaneer team was able to provide guidance in a comprehensive and focused survey of suitable properties as they came to market. Follow the story on our blog!
October's installment of our Dear Urbaneer series is entitled, 'What are the Steps to Home Renovation?'. Thanks to soaring prices, more and more Buyers are finding they have no choice but to buy a home that requires renovations. While this is increasingly par for the course, we're discovering that while many Buyers find no shortage of inspiration in envisioning the end result, they're less informed on the pragmatic processes necessary to achieve completion. Here was the original letter: “Well into our housing search, we’ve come to realize a few things, among them that in our price point, we are most likely going to buy a home that will require some work to bring it to our taste and to suit our needs. We are actually excited at the prospect of being able to put our own stamp on our home, working from the inside out. But where do we even begin? And how should this figure into our purchase plans?” Don't miss Steve's step-by-step guide to a rewarding reno!
As realtors, writers, and avid social media participants – not to mention lovers of all things real estate – our urbaneer team shares multiple blogs each week focused on the Toronto market, stellar amenities, and the urban lifestyle. In this month's issue, one of our most well received blogs was 'How the Demand for Low-Rise Housing is Fueling Toronto Real Estate Prices', in which we discussed the disproportionate amount of Torontonians who prefer ground-based housing, a demand that is helping to drive up prices even further. Another popular blog was an installment of Monika's Animal House series, entitled, 'Creating A Sleeping Environment For A Happier Healthier Dog'. In this blog, Monika discusses the importance of sleep to our pets and how to create an environment that ensures proper rest.
