Here is what you’ll find in our October 2024 E-Newsletter:
October’s instalment of Dear Urbaneer is entitled, ‘Dear Urbaneer: What’s Driving The Trend For Multi-Generational Housing In Toronto Real Estate?‘. This one comes from a reader who reached out after reading September’s Dear Urbaneer about the ‘Bank of Mom and Dad, where a couple was considering helping their adult child buy property. This month’s inquirer is thinking along the same lines but is considering options outside the housing box to help their kids afford a home. Read on for Steve’s advice!
Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most popular posts this past month:
One of our most well-read pieces this month was What’s Trending In Toronto Real Estate? When the topic of what’s trending in Shelter comes up, the discussion will vary depending on who you’re asking. If you consult an interior designer, the conversation may be about the staying power of natural materials like stone, wood, and linen. The same question to architects might go in the direction of environmentally resilient design or the energy performance of buildings. If you ask a Downtown Toronto realtor tasked with matching the wishes, wants and needs of Buyers operating under strict budget limitations with dwellings of a variety of types, sizes, and conditions, he’d say what’s trending are the houses that offer flexibility, possibility, and future opportunity offered at fair market value. Read on!
Another popular piece was: 7300 New Units In 20 Buildings Planned & Under Construction Near Dovercourt Village. Densification is key to the survival and growth of urban neighbourhoods. If you increase the size of new buildings for higher density, continue its mix of residential and commercial uses – including encouraging smaller storefronts for local entrepreneurs – and allow as-of-right new construction consistent in scale, setback and height… communities blossom! In this blog, we outline some of the major developments approaching completion that will feed the rebirth of this charming collection of small businesses and make Dovercourt Village a dynamic urban destination!
We also continue to promote ways of creating more eco-friendly and sustainable domestic spaces with, ‘Pollination Paradise: All About Butterfly Gardens & Naturalized Yards‘. Pollinators of all kinds – some no bigger than the size of your thumbnail – form a huge part of the foundation of the food chain, and help sustain the vast majority of animal life. Even humans. They include bees, butterflies, beetles, hummingbirds and more. The more wild landscapes we raze to replace with uniform green grass, the harder it is on pollinators. So why not take a small step toward more eco-friendly living? Here’s how.
