May’s Dear Urbaneer was entitled, ‘Which Digital Tools & Apps Will Help My Toronto Property Search? This month’s question comes from a prospective purchaser who is curious about what digital resources can assist her in her search for her ideal property.  The question reads: “I’m a single pragmatic professional in my 40s who rents, but I’d like to buy. I’ve been looking at listings online and touring open houses that pique my curiosity, but when I try to imagine myself as the homeowner of a particular property, it can be difficult to envision. I know a lot about real estate that is available online, but it’s not always the information I feel I need before I make a decision. Are there digital tools I’m missing?”  Read on for his insight!

Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most well-read posts this past month:

One of our most well-read pieces was: ‘The Annex House That Hides A Subway Station‘. There’s something delightfully Toronto about walking up to what looks like a stately old Annex house, opening the front door, and suddenly finding yourself descending into the subway system. The northeast entrance to Spadina Station at Spadina Road and Kendal Avenue feels less like transit infrastructure and more like a secret passage hidden in plain sight. Nestled between towering century homes, the old brick dwelling blends so naturally into the streetscape that plenty of first-time visitors walk right past it without realizing it’s actually a TTC entrance. That subtle weirdness is part of its charm — a little piece of urban magic disguised as everyday architecture. Read on!

Another popular piece was ‘Why David A. Balfour Park Is a Midtown Toronto Treasure‘. Tucked into the ravine just south of St. Clair Avenue, David A. Balfour Park feels like one of Midtown Toronto’s best-kept secrets. While the surrounding Yonge & St. Clair neighbourhood buzzes with cafés, boutiques, and city energy, the park offers an instant escape into nature. Towering trees, winding pathways, and the quiet sound of water flowing through the ravine create the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city at all. It’s the perfect place for a morning walk, an afternoon reset, or a scenic weekend stroll with coffee in hand.

We also had a great response to our blog, ‘Chill Out & Dig In At Union Social Eatery At Yonge & St. Clair‘. At the corner of Yonge & St. Clair, where Midtown Toronto feels equal parts polished and pleasantly lived-in, Union Social Eatery has become one of those neighbourhood staples people casually recommend with the confidence of someone sharing a good secret. Surrounded by boutique fitness studios, cafés, upscale condos, and the steady rhythm of commuters spilling out of St. Clair Station, it fits perfectly into the area’s “urban village” personality. Union Social Eatery calls itself “common dining, done uncommonly well,” and honestly, that pretty much captures the vibe from the moment you walk up to the front doors. Here’s the scoop on what we love best!
