This month’s instalment of Dear Urbaneer was entitled, ‘When Selling Toronto Real Estate, Is Staging Worth It?‘. In this one, I offer my insights about the benefits and costs of professional staging services and what, if any, impact it has on the outcome. The question reads: We’re in the process of getting our home ready to go to market, with tasks such as de-cluttering and attending to smaller maintenance issues. While my partner and I agree on this to-do list, we are split on whether or not to stage our home, as we don’t want to move out while the property is for sale and disrupt our children’s schedules. If we do decide to stage our home, what is the most effective approach? Is home staging recommended and why? What’s involved, and what might be at stake if we decide to forgo that part of the process? Our home is in a desirable location with a lot of features that would be appealing to future buyers. Is that enough?” Read on!

Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most well-read posts this past month:

Our most well-read piece was our 2023 wrap-up blog entitled, ‘Urbaneer’s Top 5 Most Popular Posts Of 2023′. In that spirit of constructive contemplation – and to kick off a new year –  we always like to present our annual ‘Top 5 Most Popular Urbaneer Posts’ from the year, which run the gamut from housing-related legislation to tips on preparing your home for sale in a fiscally conscious way – and all flavoured by my own personal experience, expertise, and reflections on a career now 34 years strong.

Another popular piece was ‘About Universal Design: Applications For Aging In Place & Toronto Real Estate’. I recently did some in-depth research on Universal Design (UD) as a helpful approach for seniors looking to create a safe living environment. This design concept is not just useful or limited to those wanting to age in place, however. Universal design embraces a philosophy that the highest and best use of products and environments is when they’re singularly designed to serve all people, regardless of their age, size, or physical limitations, to the greatest extent possible. So I wrote a blog!

We also had a great response to our blog ‘Healthy Organic At Carrot Common On The Danforth‘. From the products to the atmosphere, this is a health food paradise worth visiting! The staff are immensely helpful and are willing to assist in answering even the silliest-seeming questions or with finding any product you need. The shops have the air of being small-town specialty stores where everyone knows your name!

And – for lovers of unique urban spaces – don’t miss our sensational Toronto real estate listed for sale or lease on our site for your consideration!
