August’s Dear Urbaneer was entitled, ‘Dear Urbaneer: What Are The Essential Considerations When Buying Waterfront Property?‘ This time, Steve is helping a dwell seeker who is considering purchasing a waterfront property. The question reads: “It’s my dream to live facing the water, whether a lake, river or ocean. I’m drawn by water views and the lovely, peaceful experience that the waterfront provides. I am thinking of purchasing land to build a waterfront home (or buying an existing home to make improvements upon) – for a part-time, vacation residence, and later move there when I retire. However, I want to make a prudent purchase, and I expect that there are additional considerations when buying something on a body of water. What do I need to know?” Read on for his insight!
Steve and the Urbaneer Team post weekly blogs that share our love of all things real estate and that celebrate Toronto! Below are three of our most well-read posts this past month:
Our most well-read piece was: ‘The Toronto Star Interviews Realtor Steve Fudge About Navigating The 90s Housing Crash’. Two generations of Torontonians have never experienced a market correction of this magnitude. Of the approximately 70,000 realtors who are members of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board, only 3% have been working in the industry for 25 years or longer. This means that the pool of licensed property professionals who possess the knowledge, experience, and wisdom necessary to guide property owners through our current market conditions is quite select. That’s what made me a valuable candidate for the Star to interview about my experience with the 90s housing crash in Toronto!
Another popular piece was ‘The Best Place For Culture Enthusiasts To Live In Downtown Toronto‘. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what creates that unique and alluring vibe that any given globally-ranked city emits, but the rich and dynamic cultural scene that is unique to each one certainly plays a large role. And let’s be real. In Toronto, which ranked 20th worldwide in the 2025 Global Cities Index by Oxford Economics, the most significant challenge isn’t sourcing these cultural opportunities; it is deciding where to go and when, combing through the multitude of culture and entertainment options available to residents and tourists alike, particularly in the city’s downtown core!
We also had a great response to our blog, We Love The Village of Yorkville Park. Of all the amenities that truly enhance the urban lifestyle, having lush, high-quality green space readily available for locals and visitors alike to enjoy is always near the top of the list. Whether it’s finding a spot to uncurl with a book under a leafy tree, spending time with the family, taking in whatever the season offers or having somewhere to stroll, there is no denying the appeal (and necessity) of a neighbourhood park! One of our long-time favourites is the Village of Yorkville Park, located on the south side of Cumberland.
