Last week James, my co-investing best pal and urbaneer associate, and I flew to Prince Edward Island to check on the progress of The Black House, our legal triplex which has been undergoing a massive transformation over the past three years.
Click HERE when I revealed our purchase in a September 2011 post. Here’s a photograph of the front and the back of the house when we purchased it in autumn 2008:
We tackled this long term real estate investment systematically, creating a scope of work that suited our budget with the objective of turning this property into a turn-key luxury rental. During our ownership we’ve done a comprehensive Property Tune-Up, renovated the third floor two bedroom Attic Atelier into a luxe furnished rental, and this year we began reconfiguring the main floor suite which included building a Shed Addition, and a three storey deck tower on the back of the property so each unit would be appointed with generous outdoor space.
Well, our substantial addition to The Black House is nearing completion and we’re thrilled with the progress. Here are a couple of photos as it gets the finishing touches, including the new third floor Sky Terrace for our Attic Atelier!
This trip was nothing less than a zany frenetic madcap dash. We flew in to equip, furnish and photograph our two bedroom and den (optional third bedroom) Garden Suite in a whirlwind 96 hours!
We’re getting the final details completed and will soon be sharing the interior photos!
And if you’re looking for accommodations in Charlottetown, check out our luxury furnished Suites at The Black House!
Stay tuned for the reveal of our Main Floor Suite, or read the journey in The Tales of Upper Hillsborough.
