Home is, I suppose, just a child's idea. A house at night, and a lamp in the house. A place to feel safe. ~ V.S. Naipaul
Light is good from whatever lamp it shines. ~ Author Unknown
Situated at 557 Parliament Street at Winchester Street in beloved Cabbagetown, Studio Lampcage is a dream come true for those of us who define and characterize our domestic spaces by the way we light them. Proprietor Dean Lee is a master, creating bespoke lamps and lighting fixtures from a stunning array of found and repurposed antiques, materials and objects. His work is aesthetically minimal, graceful and balanced, and the materials he uses not only speak to a luminous quality, but to eras gone by. Stop in for a visit and witness in person machine-age fittings with heritage filament-style bulbs, creamy hand-blown vintage milk glass shades and gorgeous alabaster fabric drums complete with luxurious aged bronze bands.
These one-of-a-kind light fixtures have a timeless appearance.
And that's to say nothing of the warmth, quality and elegance of the wonderful light they each imbue.
