Staircase Magic

Uncategorized

Whether you’re going up or down, a staircase is an opportunity to make a style statement. The photo above attests to my own aesthetic. And for a giggle, click HERE for my past ‘Stairway To Heaven’ blog.

I was perusing the amazing Houzz.com website the other day when I took a gander at the site’s staircase section. I was surprised to see how many I didn’t like, for they were either too boring or, how shall i say… “Trying Way Too Hard To Climb The Status Ladder”.

Here are some of my favourite staircases sourced from Houzz.com:

A classic vintage newel post stair with a pop of colour gets me every time. LOVE!

My hat’s off to the well-crafted execution of this entire space, but in particular the staircase metal channel, railing and wood detail (you know how much I adore the use of natural materials). As much as I love staircases, I think a balcony overlooking an entertainment space is the ultimate in chic!

I know, you thought I’m all about contemporary design, but sometimes even I get swept away by a curving staircase with marvellous architectural details like paneling and arched fret windows. I’m drooling!

About 100 years of colourful flooring material was taken up from the kitchen of a house located in Bonavista, Newfoundland and repurposed. A great staircase doesn’t have to be expensive to be charming! This is magical!
When it comes to stairs, be inventive! It’s a terrific opportunity to be deliciously distinctive!
