Sizzle And Spice

College Street / Little Italy
One of my favourite home improvements is the custom gas barbecue located on my sunbrella-covered cedar-decked dining pavilion that’s wrapped in ivy-clad original factory windows. The scorching hot gas grill unit was inset into a custom steel cabinet eight feet long backed by a stainless steel trellis that provides some privacy between my neighbours and I. The barbecue unit is effectively an outdoor extension of my kitchen located directly inside, sharing the same height and depth as my cabinetry. It’s visually arresting, and I really appreciate the ample outdoor counter space when I’m hosting a large dinner party. I even use it in winter, as grilled food always tastes sensational, especially when I add mesquite wood chips! The gas grill cost around $1500 and the stainless steel cabinet with trellis cost about $4000. I consider it money well spent!
