What’s better than savouring excellent food in a charming bistro with character and charm? One of our favourites for just such an experience is Union Restaurant on Ossington.

Their menu is inspired by French cuisine, and their dining room exudes a Parisian vibe. It’s a wonderful experience (when dining in is possible). In fact, Union has served me one of the best rib eye steaks I’ve ever had!

Thankfully, Union has pivoted – as many restaurants have – in the face of COVID-19, and is now a great ‘dine at home’ option as well. They offer homecook boxes, boasting a weekly special a weekly special alongside great staples; try the burger box, chalet hen box, or the rib box!!

They also offer an impressive wine, beer and cider list- to go. Pre-order is required for these boxes  and the weekly special must be ordered by Thursday for pickup over the following weekend. 24 hour notice is required for their regular offerings.

They are currently offering takeout and delivery, along with a super cool market to pick up indulgent and delicious staples.

I have fond memories of dining at Union pre-pandemic, and look forward to being able to nosh leisurely with friends again, once we return to more familiar dining experiences. How cute is this back patio?!

The servers and sommelier are committed to ensuring your experience is perfectly tailored to your palate. Both the bar and dining space are warm and inviting, with a decor that’s vintage authentic with a dash of modern and some intriguing fittings, including the very cool communal handbasin in the lower level.

The ambience is reminiscent of wandering down cobblestone streets in Paris, and discovering a lovely, lively eatery, tucked away in a special corner.

They also have a sweet patio – and patio season is almost upon us!
