Nestled on Eglinton Ave W between Dufferin and Oakwood, you’ll find the (very delicious) Judy’s Island Grill, which has become not only a community favourite, but somewhat of a landmark in this midtown neighbourhood!
Judy’s is family owned and operated, and in my opinion, they serve some of the highest quality, mouth watering Caribbean dishes. While the restaurant opened its doors in Toronto in 2007, it’s actually the fourth location, preceded by three in Maryland and Georgia. Sheryl Bryan – along with her husband Mark – run the beloved Toronto location, while sibling Judy Bryan – Yes, ‘that‘ Judy! – splits her time between the US locations and is the face of the franchise.
This gem usually has a line up outside the door when we’ve visited – but it’s worth the wait! The staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about all their fab dishes, and while it’s best know for take-out, there are a few tables inside to enjoy your food. (Judy’s even does catering!)

Island Fried Chicken is a must (yum!!) and no Caribbean specialty would be complete without Oxtails. I love jerk chicken!
