Welcome to urbaneer.com's Home Of The Month feature, which showcases what our clients have recently purchased in the City of Toronto.
When our single professional female first-time buyer, who had relocated from London, England, enlisted our services in March 2013 to find the ideal centrally-located 2-bedroom condo / towne for around under $650,000, we knew it might take some time to find the Perfect Place. Her wish list included a kitchen that could accommodate some serious cooking, 'good flow' for entertaining, the intangible but rare-to-find space with fresh air and abundant light, and a private terrace. Oh, and she wanted it to be located in a vibrant dynamic area within walking distance to her work on Bloor Street just east of Yonge.
Was this possible?
During the first six months our Buyer toured a range of properties in a variety of locations – including condominiums in Little Italy, some stacked townhouses in The Annex, a townhouse in Midtown, and a vintage row house in Cabbagetown – which is par for the course for any consumer becoming educated in Toronto's expansive real estate market. As our discerning Buyer identified what areas in which she felt most comfortable, what buildings complimented her aesthetic, and the types of unit layouts that best suited her lifestyle, she narrowed her search to The Annex and Little Italy as her ideal neighbourhoods. And then we waited for the right opportunity.
As all our clients come to learn, with enough patience the ideal dwelling will present itself as 'Home'. In this instance it was one of the 24 suites in The Residences Of Designer's Walk – an intimate 4-storey condominium complex completed in 2000. Featuring suites that range from just under 1000 square feet to over 1600 square feet, the three buildings that comprise this site offer suites with direct elevator access, high ceilings, two exposures and private secure garages.
This particular unit is a chic stylish 2-bed 2-bath third floor suite with 1175 square feet of interior living space and two balconies. It features an elegant L-shaped entertainment zone with crown moldings, a gas fireplace, and even a charming leaded bay window. There is a well-proportioned master bedroom with walk-through custom-fitted closet and an indulgent spa bath, a second bedroom with washroom, and a designer kitchen which boasts ample storage, stone counters and recently-installed stainless steel appliances including a 5-burner gas range.

Listed at $599,000, our Buyer offered a squeak over the asking price and a quick closing to secure this gorgeous suite in competition against another Buyer. After nearly ten months from beginning her search, our client is now living in a dynamite central-city location in a 'house in the sky'. Congrats to Susie.
