I adore Fresh at 326 Bloor West in The Annex!

The food is yum, the decor is mondo, and the staff is adorbs. They remind me of myself when I was in my 20s waiting tables in a pasta shack called Ciao on Church Street where my friend Kate and I used to dance on the tables to Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You' ala the kids of Fame (written by Prince with Stevie Wonder on the harmonica… and, wow, those shoulder pads!!)

Fresh, toted as “Toronto's original source for modern vegetarian food and made-to-order juice”, has four locations (Spadina, Queen West, Bloor West and Eglinton). I often call ahead with my order for pick up, or pop in for a snack before heading to the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema at 506 Bloor West. One of my favorite menu items is the savoury Falafel Tacos for just 9 bucks! (Check out their full menu here.)
