Facilitated by Urbaneer team member James Ormston, who has been assisting one of our long-time landlord investor clients in securing quality tenants for his East York properties, our successful tenant client came to us through an advertisement. This particular ad we had placed for the property was on a site which is becoming increasingly more popular for those seeking affordable rental accommodations in the city: Padmapper!
Having recently graduated from college and secured her first position in her new career, our intrepid client had embarked upon a search for accomodations of her very own. She had previously been living in a shared residence (with an adored roomie of several years) closer to her old job and the college campus. With excellent references, a stellar credit history, and solid prior employment history – in addition to a letter from her new employer confirming her position and salary – all things were pointing to a positive outcome even before we had an opportunity to meet her in person! Convening at the property, we discovered that in addition to her strong credentials on paper, she was a truly delightful and engaging individual.
High on her list of ‘must-haves’ were affordability, proximity to transit, either shared or ensuite laundry facilities, a sufficient amount of space and light, and, if possible, an outdoor space suitable for entertaining a couple of friends during the warmer months.
