Downward Dog with Dogs At Puppy Love Yoga!

Animal House, City Living

Stress of professional and personal commitments got you feeling overwhelmed? Take a few deep breaths and find your center. Now envision, uber-cute, goofy puppies. Feel better?

Are you sitting down? Okay. Because what I’m about to tell you is… frankly life changing.

Puppy Yoga.

Yes. Go back and re-read that.

PUPPY. YOGA.

For those who aren’t experienced Yogis, allow us to fill you in!  A quintessential yoga class usually involves a series of movements and stretches – lasting around an hour – that counts as a work out. (I know, right?!)  And puppies are a gift from the universe that bring pure joy. Now imagine combining those? BAM! Puppy Yoga! It’s equal part cuteness and delight – all while finding your zen.

One of the first studios in Toronto to offer this irresistable fusion is Puppy Love Yoga, located on 1300 Gerrard St. East in Toronto. Conceptualized by a dog-loving family, the studio follows a mission of bringing relaxation to the world through the mindful practice of yoga and the health and mental benefits of sharing a bond with animals. (We talk about similar health benefits when the natural worls intersects with man-made living spaces in Dear Urbaneer: What Is Biophilia And How Can I Use It In Home Design?)

What you’ll need? Just a yoga mat. They provide the puppies.  A typical class consists of 45 minutes of yoga – open to beginners and yogis alike – with an additional 15 minutes at the end for extra cuddles and Insta pics with the puppies.

Although you will get a lot out of this interaction personally, this environment is extremely beneficial for the puppies too. Most animal behaviourists believe that early socialization is extremely important for puppy development and cuddly exercise certainly ticks that box!

I. Can’t. Even.

All puppies in the studio are up to date on all their vaccinations and deworming. Their health is first priority to the studio owners, who work in concert with service and therapy dog trainers. So yes, you will be doing yoga with a future service dog who will better the world. The studio is in the process of working with rescue animals and organizations, trying to create creative ways to fundraise for shelters and rescues.

The type of puppies may change and there is a chance of cancellation, however your ticket is good for another day if that does happen.

I’ve already signed up! So see you there!

Real estate is a multi-faceted experience that involves engagement on sensory, intellectual and emotional levels. In fact, those are some of the reasons why we are such fans of multimedia, especially as it relates to creating an understanding of neighbourhood atmosphere or providing a snapshot of what life would be like as a member of a given community.

Toronto, as you know, is a city of neighbourhoods, where there is a patchwork of lifestyle, options and unique amenities. Part of our service at Urbaneer is an understanding of what makes each of these neighbourhoods tick, and what amenities might be most appealing to a particular homeowner. Can we help you decide which neighbourhood might be best for you?

With decades of experience navigating the highs and lows of our market, and our commitment to remain acutely aware of shifts and trends, we’re here to help! All without pressure or hassle. May we be of assistance to you, or someone you love? Please know we’re here to help!
