Dynamic And Delish At Dish Cooking Studio

City Living, Restaurants

Tucked away in one of our favourite Toronto neighbourhoods, Little Italy, is an incredibly unique offering that you simply must experience! We’re speaking, of course, about Dish Cooking Studio, whose three-pronged culinary business includes a cafe, a wide variety of cooking classes, and a ‘pantry’ where you can buy the quality ingredients that they use daily! Where else can you cook, eat, and shop in one visit?

In their own words, the purveyors of Dish are “creating a holistic food experience – one that is thoughtful, helpful and flavourful. By giving people the opportunity to cook, eat and shop under one roof, Dish is a distinctly different neighbourhood culinary destination. It’s this curated collection of hand-picked ingredients that will fill our shelves, invigorate our menu and inspire our teaching. And it’s with those ingredients that we, here, and you, at home, have the makings of more memorable meals to enjoy with friends and family. ” -DishCookingStudio

The cafe serves up a daily menu that is simple but well-curated. Offerings include salads, quiche, soups, stews, various meats and cheeses, as well as portions of ready-made meals (like casseroles) that you can also purchase whole on a day where you know you won’t have time to cook! And that’s just the beginning; Dish’s ‘pantry’ stocks their favorite well-priced oils, spices, mustards, vinegars, cheeses, and much much more – we always find it’s difficult to leave empty-handed!

BlogTO dubbed the plethora of Dish cooking classes some of the best in the city! A few of their classes even take a more product-focused approach, by focusing on specific recipes from well-known chefs (Alice Waters and Ina Garten to name two). But rest assured they also offer the classics you’d expect, including a boot camp for beginners, Girls’ Night, and couples cooking. Prices per class generally run between $125 and $175. Oh, and if you feel you still need a class or two under your belt before you throw your next soiree or host an important event, don’t forget that Dish runs a catering service too!

It’s an exciting little business that is a welcome addition to the many long-standing, expensive restaurants and wine bars that populate College Street. Wouldn’t it be stellar to live in Little Italy and have Dish Cooking Studio be part of your daily life? You’d be a short stroll from good eats, specialty ingredients, refrigerated ready-made meals (concocted with love, instead of in a factory), not to mention your next culinary class!

If you love Little Italy as much as we do, we could find you a swell dwell right in the neighbourhood. Here’s one we sold in 2017, called An Enchanting Victorian Cottage In Little Italy!
