Café Bernaté at Queen Street West and Brookfield Street

Queen West

Every once in a blue moon, the stars align to allow a little “me” time. Which occurred earlier this week, when urbaneer stopped in for a mid-day bite at a charmer of a spot in West Queen West. Situated next to the Stephen Bulger Gallery, Café Bernaté – located at 1024 Queen St. West since 1991 – prepares a selection of fresh salads, soups and sandwiches served in a french café tradition.

We indulged in the barista’s signature cappuccino, a fresh ‘hearth and home simmered’ green pea soup finished with ricotta, and a sandwich of freshly roasted chicken, brie and asparagus served on our fave crusty baguette. Who could ask for anything more? We did!, savouring a fresh-from-the oven melt-in-your-mouth chunky chocolate-chip cookie.

This is good home-style cooking at its best and most comforting! Add Café Bernaté’s hallmark friendly and attentive service, and you understand why this care has ensured their longtime success and loyal following.

Can you imagine the comfort of having a cafe this delectable just steps from your home?

Check out our outstanding property listing just down the street –> Living Well in The Bohemian Embassy In West Queen West, offered both for lease ($2450+hydro per month) or purchase (at $499,000)!

Have we piqued your interest in this great neighbourhood or any of the other Toronto Neighbourhoods we specialize in?

Send us a quick email – we welcome assisting you!
