If You’re Feeling ‘Hangry’, Bonjour Brioche In Riverside Is the Cure!

City Living, Leslieville/Riverside, Restaurants

You know those days when you’ve missed a meal or two and you’re feeling pretty ‘hangry’ at the world? We’ve got the fix!

Bonjour Brioche, located on the corner of Queen and De Grassi, is not hard to find; all you have to do is follow your nose! The heavenly scent of fresh baked goods wafts down the street, drawing in early-morning warriors, snackers, lunchers, and brunchers alike!

Their sweet treats will have you feeling on top of the world again in no time!

Having become a massive Toronto favourite since opening its doors in 1997, Bonjour continues to serve up fluffy French pastries, fresh-baked breads, flavourful sandwiches, and other delicious morsels of all kinds that you can enjoy at a quaint cafe table, at home with the fam, or on the run!

Lori Feasson and her husband, Henri (who just happens to be a French pastry chef), filled a void that the neighbourhood food and beverage scene was missing – and then excelled to become a Riverside staple! They have remained the owners and operators of Bonjour since its inception, but are soon planning on finally retiring after 25 years of success.

One of the many things that makes Bonjour one of our favourites is the fact that all the fare is created on-site. No commissary, no purchasing from other locations; everything comes from their kitchens, baked from scratch by Henri & team!

Our advice? Make a rest, or get there early! Often, certain fan favorites sell out by lunch! And if you find yourself waiting for a table in a small line, know that the fare is worth the delay!

You’d be surprised to know that, even with a constant stream of dine-in customers, a good chunk of their business comes from their takeaway window. I suppose it’s true that Torontonians are always on the run!

(Oh, and they also do exquisite catering!)

I love that they recently collaborated with the apparel company Province of Canada to create some swag to wear with pride! Given their loyal following, I’m sure they’re selling well!

To sum up – this is a top-notch joint we highly recommend! So, on the hangry days (and all the other days!!) make sure to take time for yourself – and your stomach! From timeless classics to trying something out of your comfort zone, Bonjour Brioche has us saying “Un de plus”!
