Luna Cafe at 181 Dovercourt Road is just north of Queen West in one of those charming former corner grocery storefronts that pepper the neighbourhood village streets of Toronto. This simple unadorned cafe is cozy with a vintage patina that is as down to earth as it is unassumingly stylish. It doesn't have a liquor licence, and its menu is limited but perfection all the same. It also has one of the tiniest washrooms I've ever seen in a food establishment which may not be a reason to visit but you'll be amused nonetheless.

Directly across the street from Argyle Lofts, the former Bakery dating from as early as 1873 (though the dominant structure was constructed in 1919) that was completed in 2007 into 86 vintage and contemporary penthouse lofts (see photo above), Luna is the Go-To destination for fair trade coffee klatching. It's a great place to meet up with pals enroute to the shops, galleries or Drake Hotel on Queen West. And if you're solo, it's a great place to people watch (it's filled with locals not trying an ounce too hard but looking gorgeous all the same), and it has the prettiest vista from inside to out (if you can tear your eyes off the patrons)!

My pal and associate James and I love to pop in for a quick bite before we're checking out the available real estate in the neighbourhood. With our Bosley office just down the street and around the corner, this is one of our fav spots for lunch, along with The Drake Hotel.
