Cool Counter In Hip King West

Most of us possess fond memories of cozying up in a diner banquette for burgers, fries and chocolate milkshakes. The notion qualifies as the quintessential comfort food experience. So no wonder the international Thompson Hotel chain would create a luxe 24 hour showcase in their Toronto location on Wellington Street West at Bathurst for those craving the familiar.

The Counter is a classic diner with a splash of panache. It has a great look without trying too hard, the service is friendly and efficient, and the food is diner delish. And it's open 24 hours! We kept our order simple...a smoked turkey Cobb Salad and a Chicken Harvest Salad made with spinach, goat cheese, cranberries, carmelized pecans and sunflowers. Yum!

This is a pretty fantastic neighbourhood amenity. I mean, how brilliant would it be to have a 24 hour diner around the corner from your pad? And if you're just looking for a great meal to eat while watching your favourite television show or movie rental, they even encourage you to call ahead and place your order so it's ready for pick-up by the time you arrive. Love!
